This girl

Charms the socks off of everybody who crosses her path.
I'll show you how:
Everywhere we go, people are always throwing their socks at her. It's getting kind of weird.

Yo Gabba Gabba!

She is a bit too young to be a true Yo Gabba Gabba fan, but that doesn't mean she can't rock a Yo Gabba Gabba onesie! (I made it; it's awesome!) (It's my cool, cool, cool trick! Yeah!)

Give me a biscuit!

Violet has transformed from a really great night sleeper (12 hours a night, no interruptions) and a poor-to-middling day sleeper (hard to get down, cat napper) to an all around not very good sleeper. It is impossible to get her to sleep at night without nursing her to sleep before I put her down (and even that is hit or miss), and she wakes up twice a night to nurse. Well, okay, I could let her scream herself to sleep, but I just don't have it in me. I don't understand what happened! I could put her down awake and after a few minutes (tops) of fussing, she'd be OUT. Now, not so much.
Alas, I have no answers. Just lots of awake time at times I really don't want to be awake, like 2 and 3 in the morning. (And since this is V's blog and not Mad's blog, I won't even get into what Mad has been up to at 3 in the morning lately, but suffice it to say that I AM LOSING MY HEAD OVER HERE).
For now, my current coping strategy is OPERATION SURVIVAL, which means that I am nursing her to sleep at night and it takes about FOREVER plus 3 minutes. It's those last 3 minutes that really get you.
In much better news, V started solids! Technically, she started solids a few weekends ago. I gave her a tablespoon of rice cereal with much trepidation after Mad's response to the rice cereal. She ate it like a champ. I watched her anxiously all day and....she spit up a lot. She was really cranky, arching her back a lot. And did I mention the spit up? You see, there was a lot of it. And I just decided....maybe she is working on an awful reaction like Mad's and I just didn't want to go there. So solids on hold.
I had talked to her doctor about it, and she had said that it was okay to go with rice cereal, but if I didn't feel comfortable with it, she was okay with us starting her on a vegetable. So this weekend I decided to go the vegetable route. Sweet potatoes! She is loving them.
Now I need to brush up on the whole introducing solids thing because I really really don't remember the process. Why my brain chose not to absorb that information but instead chooses to absorb information like what's going with Spencer and Heidi and LC and Lauren and Audrina and JustinBobby, and I don't even watch that show, well...obviously, my priorities are totally in order.

Overall, lately, Violet remains a fantastic and gorgeous and wonderful baby. I took Mad and V to the mall to meet a friend for a playdate in the kid area, and my friend was eating a chicken biscuit from chick fil a. I was standing V in my lap, and V was eyeing my friend's biscuit with a look that I can only describe as utter fascination.
"Aw, she wants a biscuit," I said, bouncing her up and down a bit. "Give! Me! A! Biscuit!" I said, punctuating each word with a little bounce. A smile spread over her face, so I did it again. Bigger smile and a gruff chuckle. So I did it again. An all out squeal of adorableness. So that's been a constant refrain around here lately. "Who's a fussy girl? You're a fussy girl! Give! Me! A! Biscuit!" And then she laughs every time.

It would be convenient if I actually had a picture of that, but lately the camera gives her that deer-in-the-headlights thing, so here's an awwwww picture of Violet and her sister instead.
Awwwwww.
